Too funny. As is so true and can be so terrible with rumor mills, we have the converse of the earlier post. According to both Scobleizer and Kara Swisher, Google is not trying to by Twitter.

So…only time will tell, but even if Google and Twitter are only in talks about how to form a partnership, alliance or such. Please, please, please… don’t ruin Twitter with ads.

Regardless of how it might happen or why Google would purchase Twitter, one common thread is emerging, Google wants Twitter.
Personally I really hope this does not mean Google Adsense units in Tweets or something similar. I htink that monetizing Twitter feeds ruins the simplistic concept and usefulness of Twitter. Already we see the commercialization of tweets, automated direct responses, et al. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time before Twitter is just another “old” thing and the new un-monetized “thing” will gain momentum.
Please Google, if you acquire Twitter, don’t kill it!

While working with time series charts in SQL Server Reporting Services, I ran across a particular need to show cumulative aggregation of income over time by fiscal year. Yup, that’s a mouthful eh? I initially thought great, I’ll just make the Y-axis value be the running total of the !Fields:Total.Value for the fiscal year series grouping using the RunningValue() function. Well, more breaking news out of DrupalCon DC this afternoon. According to various Tweets from #drupalcon as well as a this ZDNet blog post, Acquia today named Thomas Erickson as its new CEO.
Erickson, who was already on the Acquia board is reported as saying “this is still Dries’ (Buytaert) company. We’re going to follow Dries’ strategy about making Drupal more successful.”

Game Changing Announcement for Microsoft BI
Boy doesn’t this sound like other previous Microsoft endeavors. Hmmmm…. The post/video indicates the following end results.
- Supporting the democratization of BI (aka BI for the masses) with the consolidation of PerformancePoint Server Monitoring and Analytics functions into Office SharePoint Server Enterprise. The new capabilities will be called PerformancePoint Services.
- As I read the announcement, PerformancePoint Planning has been put out of our misery. Service Pack 3 will represent the end of the line for investment in a stand-alone PPS Planning product.
