Hey there all you IT folks Do you feel like God is calling you to use your talents and gifts in a different way? If so, I want to tell you about a conference that is coming up.

May 15-16 in Dallas or October 23-24 in Orlando.

The Check IT Out conference is only a few weeks away in Dallas, Texas. This conference is put on by Wycliffe and a number of partner organizations with representation from Wycliffe Bible Translators USA, The Seed Company, SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics), JAARS, etc… This year, it will be hosted by The Seed Company at their Arlington, Texas offices. Facebook Photos Datacenter – 1 Billion per month

801934385_a1d4dbe585Came across an interesting video today from Facebook. It is apparently fairly common for small teams, 3-5 people, to work together to create a product. In this case, the “photos” application.

According to the video, photos has become much more popular than expects. To give you some idea of how popular, take a look at these statistics.

General Design

  • SSAS 2005 and 2008 are extremely different from SSAS 2000
  • Upgrading from 200 might work on small simple cubes. Not recommended
  • In almost all cases, expect to redesign the AS db to take advantage of new features
